Teaching tips
- Common Core 4.NF.C.6 asks students to use decimal notation for fractions with denominators 10 or 100, and 4.NF.C.7 asks them to compare two decimals to hundredths.
- Common Core 5.NBT.A.3 extends reading, writing and comparing decimals to thousandths, including expanded form.
- A common mix-up: 0.7 is greater than 0.65 even though 65 is greater than 7. Write 0.7 as 0.70 to compare.
