Division with Arrays Worksheets
Students see division two ways: sharing dots into equal rows (how many in each row?) and circling equal groups (how many groups?). Then they write two multiplication and two division facts for each array.
Choose facts up to 5 × 5 or up to 9 × 9.
Division with Arrays
The dots are shared into equal rows. Count the dots in each row to divide.
12 dots in 4 equal rows
12 ÷ 4 =
6 dots in 2 equal rows
6 ÷ 2 =
8 dots in 2 equal rows
8 ÷ 2 =
Circle equal groups. Then write the division sentence.
Circle groups of 5. How many groups?
25 ÷ 5 =
Circle groups of 4. How many groups?
20 ÷ 4 =
Write two multiplication facts and two division facts for each array.
Division with Arrays: Answer Key
The dots are shared into equal rows. Count the dots in each row to divide.
12 dots in 4 equal rows
12 ÷ 4 = 3
6 dots in 2 equal rows
6 ÷ 2 = 3
8 dots in 2 equal rows
8 ÷ 2 = 4
Circle equal groups. Then write the division sentence.
Circle groups of 5. How many groups?
25 ÷ 5 = 5
Circle groups of 4. How many groups?
20 ÷ 4 = 5
Write two multiplication facts and two division facts for each array.
Teaching tips
- Common Core 3.OA.A.2 asks students to interpret 56 ÷ 8 as the number in each share when 56 objects are shared into 8 equal shares, or as the number of shares of 8.
- Connect each division fact to the multiplication fact it undoes.
- Use counters to build each array before drawing.
